BBQ's have now become fun, funky and fashionable and what's more, they've also become much more upmarket with this year's theme being Gastro Alfresco! So for all you aspirant Barbi fans out there who want to find just what it takes to become a Gastro Griller, why not check out the National BBQ website www.nationalbbq.ie , which contains just about everything that you need to know to become a Better BBQ'er, with lots of brilliant Barbi recipes, tips and advice, plus Legends of the Grill. There's even a frustratingly addictive BBQ computer game 'Beat the Barbi Brat' to really test how great you really are on the grill! You can enter the 3rd Ireland's Best BBQ'er competition on-line if you really want to impress your friends and have a chance of winning an all-expenses paid trip to the World-famous Memphis in May BBQ & Music event in 2008.

The aim of the 3rd National BBQ - Gastro Alfresco '07 promotion, which runs throughout the summer, is to once again increase the popularity of BBQ'ing in Ireland and encourage Summer gastro alfresco eating and entertaining. In 2006, the average number of BBQ's held was estimated to be around 4.5 per household, with over 320,000 households reaching for the Barbi. So why not get your family and friends involved this year by simply visiting the National BBQ Week website www.nationalbbq.ie

There’s no question that BBQ’ing is an exciting, relaxing and yes healthy way to cook, and budding Barbi Chefs across the country will be cooking up a storm this summer. However, thankfully BBQ is no longer about burnt bangers or charcoaled chicken ‘bunged-in-a-bap’ and doused in ketchup, BBQ today is much more upmarket, covering everything from burger to brochette and sausage to swordfish, with great recipes such as Corsican Spatchcocked Chicken or Serrano Ham Wrapped Tuna, a great way to enjoy alfresco living with family and friends. To help keep you alfresco wining and dining throughout the summer months (Website name) have teamed up with National BBQ ’07 to bring you some great prizes including the Better Barbi Box. This contains a feast of Barbi treats such as a bottle of Lindemans Chardonnay Bin 65, 4 Bottles of Bavaria Beer, a free voucher for the new one litre tub of HB Hazelbrook Farm Iceberger ice cream, a money off voucher from Birds Eye with also a Frisbee to keep everyone entertained while the BBQ sizzles. And to keep you grilling all summer long, a disposable grill from ZIP - this box is sure to make your BBQ the envy of all your friends! So if you have a taste for some Barbi fun and you’re in a summer mood, all you have to do is answer this simple question and be in with a chance of winning this great prize:
