Ballylickey is situated on Bantry Bay
and is surrounded by some of Ireland's most beautiful scenery.
Bantry House enjoys a fabulous position overlooking the bay. The
house has a fine collection of art and antiques and is surrounded by
beautiful landsaped gardens. Nearby Glengarriff is famous for its
lush tropical gardens and visitors can take a boat ride across the
blue Pool to Garinish Island with its beautiful Italianate Gardens
full of exotic shrubs and trees. There is also a Bamboo Park in
Glengarriff. Tours of West Cork and the Beara Peninsula can be
enjoyed. There are many ancient sites in the area, most notably the
Drombeg Stone Circle near Clonakilty.
