The Playhouse Theatre, Derry

With the refurbishment of our Artillery Street site, which has already won a major architectural award, The Playhouse is delighted to be able to offer an even wider range of services to the community. Available for both private and business hire, our new auditorium and workshop spaces are ideal for conferences, seminars, training days and a variety of private functions. Situated in the heart of the historic walled city, The Playhouse boasts a state-of-the-art auditorium with seating for up to 175 delegates, with additional breakout and training rooms available in one of the most unique settings in the North West.

The Verbal Arts Centre

The Verbal Arts Centre is an educational charity founded in 1992. In 2000 the Centre moved its premises to the beautifully refurbished First Derry School, a listed building which occupies a prime location on the city’s walls. The Centre’s underpinning purpose is the promotion of the language arts, celebration of commonality and diversity, development of knowledge, understanding and excellence in creation, performance and critical practice across the verbal arts forms, together with research, publication and provision of information. The Verbal Arts Centre develops and delivers a portfolio of verbal arts services for a range of client groups and stakeholders.

The Nerve Centre

The Nerve Centre was established in 1990 as a focal point for youth culture in Derry, Northern Ireland's second city. By bringing popular music, film, video, animation and interactive multimedia together under one roof, the Nerve Centre promotes creative collaboration and fusion between artists and provides a cultural outlet for many young people who feel excluded from what is traditionally regarded as the "arts sector".

Waterside Theatre

The Waterside Theatre hosts a range of quality arts and entertainment throughout the year such as drama, dance, comedy, live music and children's theatre. It also produces an extensive Education Programme. The newly refurbished facility caters for all ages from pre-school children to senior citizens. With a capacity of 372, free on-site car-parking, disabled access, a full screen cinema, fully licensed cafe bar and lounge bar, this is the perfect venue for evening entertainment or hosting a conference.
