All Blue Flag
beaches must meet the following
criteria
WATER QUALITY
- The beach must fully comply with the water quality sampling and frequency
requirements
- The beach must fully comply with the standards and requirements for water
quality analysis
- No industrial, waste-water or sewage-related discharges should affect the
beach area
- The beach must comply with the Blue Flag requirements for the
microbiological parameter faecal coli bacteria (E.coli) and intestinal
enterococci /streptococci

Blue Flag Beach on Dublin Bay with its
sandy beaches and dunes, it is a little
oasis away from the hustle of Dublin
City. It is located next to Bull Island,
which is an USESCO site and a bird
sanctuary. |

Portmarnock Beach,
Blue Flag Beach, is know for its flat
,silky white sands, and is located 7
miles to the north of Dublin city centre
with views of Howth Head. Portmarnock
can be accessed by train or DART from
Dublin city centre. Portmarnock Golf
links is just a short distance away,
something for everybody. |
