has 63 spacious and comfortable rooms. Facilities include en-suite
bathroom, air conditioning, satellite TV, radio, hair dryer, trouser
press, direct dial telephone and fax modem line as standard. The
hotel also provides self catering accommodation in The Lodges which
are situated in the grounds of the hotel. Capable of sleeping up to
10 people, each lodge offers a large open plan living/dining room
which opens onto a private wooden deck outside. There is one double
ensuite bedroom, two twin bedrooms and two double bedrooms with two
additional bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern
appliances and all the necessary kitchen utensils and crockery.
Washer/dryer, hair dryers, storage room, satellite TV, bed linen and
towels are also included. The Oaks Leisure Centre offers an indoor
heated pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam-room as well as a fully
equipped health club, fitness room and therapy clinic. An all
weather astro-turf multi purpose pitch and tennis courts can be
found on the grounds of the hotel. The Shannon Oaks Hotel and
Country Club offers unrivalled facilities for the corporate client
and can accommodate groups of between 200 and 400 delegates.The
hotel's conference rooms are professionally designed with a complete
range of audio-visual and computerised equipment.

Directly adjacent to the hotel is the
1,500 acre Earls of Clanricarde estate, abundant with wildlife and
idyllic woodland. The Shannon Oaks also enjoys the availability of
several facilities locally. These include golf, fishing, cruising,
watersports, equestrian, heritage trails, walking and cycling. All
of these activities can be organised through the hotel.

which delivers a uniquely Irish cullinary experience created using

Attractions
|
The tiny Confert Cathedral which is
close to Portumna is a perfect example of Romanesque architecture
and is believed to be the burial place of St Brendan, the great
navigator. On the Galway coast you will find Kinvarra, a charming
fishing village where visitors can see traditional Galway wooden
sailing boats called hookers. Nearby, on the shore of Galway Bay is
Dunghaire Castle. The present castle on the site was built in the
16th century and the banqueting hall is still used for recreated
medieval banquets. Galway city lies at the heart of Connacht, the
Land of the Ancient Kings. The city centre has many narrow winding
streets which are perfect for exploring on foot. Places to visit in
Galway include Eyre Square, the Latin Quarter; including Shop Street
with its cosmopolitan shops and cafes, and Lynch's Castle which is
the grandest 16th century house in the city.
