at Ballynahinch Castle Hotel which have been decorated and furnished
to reflect the Castle's history. Choose from an elegant standard,
superior or luxury bedroom or a Riverside suite. Standard rooms
which are situated in the main part of the house have views of the
mountains, river or courtyard. Each room has a private bathroom, TV
and direct dial telephone. Superior Rooms have four poster beds, a
sitting area and views of the river. Luxury Rooms and Riverside
Suites, which are located in the riverside wing, have king size
beds, luxury bathroom, private dressing area and dressing gown and
slippers are provided. These rooms enjoy views of the river and
woodland. There are many leisure activities that can be enjoyed
at Ballynahinch Castle Hotel. Pony trekking on the beach can be
arranged at reception and the walking centre provides guided walks
through the Twelve Bens mountains. Ballynahinch Fishery is known as
one of the finest salmon and sea trout rivers in Ireland. The hotel
also has 13,000 acres of prime woodcock shooting which is held from
November through to the end of January. |

Connemara has a wealth of beautiful
scenery and major sights include the Connemara National Park. The
5,000 acres of bogland, lakes and moutains which make up the park
provide some of the most spectaular landscapes in Ireland and are
home to the Connemara ponies. Clifden is the largest town in the
area with several shops, a bank, pretty craft and coffee shops and
is a good starting point to enjoy the scenic Sky Road Drive. Built
in 1868, Kylemore Abbey is now home to the Irish Benedictine Nuns
but visitors can enjoy the beautiful gardens and there is a
restaurant and craft shop. There are many fine beaches in the area
such as the well-known beach, Dog's Bay and Gurteen Bay. The Irish
speaking Aran Islands are well worth a day trip. The islands have a
rich ancient history and can be reached by a short ferry crossing
from Rossaveal on the Connemara coast. |
