Barnstorm Theatre,
Kilkenny |
 |
Barnstorm (founded in 1991) is based in
Kilkenny; and endeavours to establish
theatre practice which can engage the
wider community, with a positive bias
towards access and provision for
sections of the community not
traditionally theatre-going, e.g.
children, young people and local
communities.
To this end Barnstorm
presents professional theatre for
children and young people (from 4 year
olds up),
works with communities to research,
devise and present Community Theatre
Projects; engages with
groups/individuals (young people and
their leaders) in the practice and
presentation of theatre/drama through an
innovative Outreach & Education
programme (including Youth Theatre and
Adult Drama Club. |

The Devious Theatre,
Kilkenny |
 |
The Devious Theatre Company (or Devious
Theatre as we’re alternately known) was
set up in 2006 by a bunch of Kilkenny
theatre enthusiasts with a view to
creating a program of fresh theatrical
produce.
Devious Theatre wants to provide
a theatrical alternative to the pubs,
gigs and cinemas that are favoured for
nights out. Our aim is to create,
nurture, develop and produce a
professional and dynamic program of
theatre with an onus on performing new
and little seen works. We want to create
a theatre that’s not academic or
precious or stuffy, just live
performance delivered as live
performance should be: immediate,
energetic, engaging and always
entertaining. |
