Birr Hot Air Balloon Festival - May
  The Hot Air Balloon Festival in Birr County Offaly where 20 hot air balloons take off each morning and evening from the grounds of Birr Castle Demesne with a host of family entertainment on hand to enjoy in the grounds. The Hot Air Balloon Festival attracts balloonists from far and wide.

Birr Vintage Week and Arts Festival - August
Birr Vintage Week and Arts Festival held in August in Birr, County Offaly celebrates the history and heritage of Birr. Birr Vintage Week offers a range of entertainment from arts and crafts, displays of vintage aeroplanes, traditional craft displays, thresher displays, vintage cars, balloon race, circus performers, road bowling, antiques, golfing at Glenns, storytelling,  treasure hunts, is there anything we forgot !

Shannonbridge & Clonmacnoise Midsummer Music Festival - June
Shannonbridge & Clonmacnoise Midsummer Music Festival held in June can be enjoyed for a wonderful host of entertainment with art classes and demonstrations, music in Clonmacnoise, prehistoric music on ancient musical instruments, the folklore and legacy of ancient Irish music, treasure hunt for the children, live jazz and blues bands. Mick Hanly and Eleanor McEvoy headlined the 2010 Festival. The Festival is located in this great  village by the Shannon and the large Clonmacnoise monastic site.

Tullamore Agricultural Show - August
Tullamore Agricultural Show is a very large Agricultural event enjoyed in County Offaly with a large attendance each year. Along with the Agricultural and Livestock there are up to 650 trade stands there is something to hold everyone's interest there is Best Dressed Lady competition, Glamorous Granny, Bonny Baby competition. You can enjoy fashion shows, fabulous flower shows, dog shows, horses & ponies, livestock and the best horticulture show in Ireland all at the Tullamore Agricultural & Livestock Show in County Offaly.

Slieve Bloom Storytelling Festival, held in October, a festival of stories, tales and myths and legends and song takes place in a number of venues in Offaly and Laois such as Roundwood House, Ballaghmore Castle, Leap Castle. The Slieve Bloom area is an area steeped in history and folklore and this magical setting of valleys, waterfalls, raths and castles lends itself as a backdrop for this great storytelling festival.
