All Blue Flag beaches must meet the following criteria

WATER QUALITY

  • The beach must fully comply with the water quality sampling and frequency requirements
  • The beach must fully comply with the standards and requirements for water quality analysis
  • No industrial, waste-water or sewage-related discharges should affect the beach area
  • The beach must comply with the Blue Flag requirements for the microbiological parameter faecal coli bacteria (E.coli) and intestinal enterococci /streptococci

 

 


Courtown Beach
  Courtown Beach, Blue Flag Beach, is set in Courtown Bay, County Wexford is only a 10 minute drive from Gorey. It has been a popular beach for many years with tourists due to the unspoilt nature of the beach and surrounding area. Courtown is facing the Atlantic Ocean.

Curracloe Beach
  Curracloe Beach, Blue Flag Beach, in the Curracloe village County Wexford is only a 17 minute drive from Wexford town and 38 minute drive from the town of Enniscorthy. Curracloe Beach has wonderful golden sands, 8 miles of them, so it is no wonder that it was used as one of the film locations for the film "Saving Private Ryan" starring Tom Hanks. This beautiful coastline area is very popular with holiday goers who stay in B&B's locally as well as mobile homes and in the caravan parks. Curracloe Beach is known for its safe swimming conditions. Visitors can enjoy shore fishing at this beach.

Kilmore Quay Marina
  Kilmore Quay Marina, Blue Flag Marina, is located in the small fishing village of Kilmore Quay, County Wexford just 8 miles from Rosslare. The village is made all the more interesting with its thatched cottages and white washed houses, a great village to relax and enjoy, which leads down to the state of the art 55 berth Kilmore Quay Marina. The area is known for its many natural sand dunes, the Ballyteigue Barrow is just one example of where to see an excellent example of the sand dunes. Kilmore Quay can be enjoyed for its angling, diving, visiting the nearby beaches and enjoying a boat trip around the Saltee Islands which is home to a number of bird species. Investigate the local Guillemot Maritime Museum.

Morriscastle Beach
  Morriscastle Beach in Kilmuckridge in County Wexford is located 40 minute drive from Gorey and 49 minutes drive from Enniscorthy. Morriscastle Beach, Blue Flag Beach, has 10 miles of wonderful beach and natural sand dunes to enjoy, along with safe swimming, on this East Coast location in Wexford, Ireland. It stretched from Curracloe Beach over to Cahore Point and shore fishing can also be enjoyed here.

Rosslare Beach
  Rosslare Blue Flag Beach in County Wexford lies just a 20 minute drive from Wexford town and a 35 minute drive from Enniscorthy. Rosslare Beach gives way to a safe, long, golden sand beach for all the family to enjoy a range of activities such as water activities, horse riding, golf, angling and walking.
