is actually a parkland course. It is
surrounded on three sides by forestry
and the course boasts thousands of
trees, in fact every fairway is tree
lined to reward the accurate golfer and
punish the wayward. The course is
matured par 71, almost
6000 meters in length and provides great

New Ross Golf Club is a mature parkland
facility which enjoys expansive views
over Wexford, Carlow and Kilkenny taking
full advantage of the natural beauty of
its surroundings, dominated by the
magnificent Brandon and Blackstairs
mountains.
Established in 1905 New Ross is a
testing golf course with tree-lined
fairways and superb sand-based greens
complemented by various water hazards
and lakes.
This beautiful Par 70 golf course leads
to an enjoyable golfing experience for
players of all standards. Acknowledged
as one of the driest courses in the
south-east, golf is available throughout
the entire year. The
club house has a warm friendly

Rosslare Golf Club
situated on the extreme south-east
coast, it stands on a narrow peninsula
with the Irish sea on one side and the
huge expanse of Wexford harbour on the
other. Opened in 1905, the vista
that greets the golfer on the Rosslare
golf links has a capacity to enthral the
onlooker. Generations of visitors have
witnessed the sea in all its moods.
Apart from the 18 hole championship
links golf course measuring 6,800 yards
there is also a 12 hole layout known as
the Burrow Course that opened in 1992.
Both golf courses are available to
non-members for a modest green fee.
In the
distance lies the huge sandbank
known as The Long Bank, and a little
south of it, Holden’s Bed. Further south
stands The Tuskar Lighthouse.
The Golf Course is situated
within view of Rosslare's famous bird
paradise, the North Sloblands, many of
the rare species of birds that visit
this protected area are also to be seen
on the golf course. |
