Ardmore Beach

Ardmore Beach is situated in West County Waterford between Youghal and Dungarvan. It is very popular amount locals and can be very busy during the Summer months.

There is a wide range of activities to be enjoyed including kayaking, canoeing, surfing and cliff top walks.

Clonea Beach

Clonea Beach east of Dungarvan town is the first beach along the Copper Coast and the Waterford Greenway. It stretches for approximately 1.5 km with a wide expanse of golden sand, making it a perfect spot for sunbathing. Lifeguards are on duty during the Summer season which makes swimming and surfing popular. As with any coastal area, it's essential to be aware of any currents or warnings issued by lifeguards.

The beach is backed by sand dunes and grassy areas, providing a pleasant backdrop. At low tide, the beach reveals vast areas of firm sand, ideal for long walks.

Blue Flag Status: Clonea Beach has been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag status, which is an international standard for clean and well-managed beaches. This designation ensures that the beach meets strict environmental and safety criteria, making it an attractive destination for both locals and tourists.

Further along the Copper Coast travelling East is Stradbally Cove. The cove can be easily missed as it is well hidden and protected between two hills.

Ballydowane Beach

Bunmahon Beach is a 4km sandy beach on the Copper Coast in West Waterford. It is situated midway between Dungarvan & Tramore. It has a boardwalk which is ideal for walkers.

Bunmahon Beach is another excellent spot for surfing in Waterford. Located on the Copper Coast, this picturesque beach offers consistent waves and is less crowded than Tramore. The local surf school, Copper Coast Surf School, provides lessons for all ages and abilities. They have experienced instructors who will guide you through the basics and help you catch your first wave.

Annstown Beach

Also on the Copper Coast you will find Annstown Beach, situated approximately 10 km west of Tramore. Itis a popular beach fro swimmers and surfers alike.

The small beach offers some facilities, including ample parking spaces. There are also picnic areas with benches and tables, perfect for enjoying a meal or snack with a view.

Annestown Beach is a hidden gem for surfing in Waterford. Situated between Tramore and Dungarvan, this beautiful beach offers a more secluded surfing experience. The waves here can be powerful, making it more suitable for intermediate to advanced surfers. While there may not be dedicated surf schools at Annestown, you can inquire with local surf shops or Tramore Surf School for information on lessons and surfboard rentals.

Tramore's beaches are undoubtedly the highlight for visitors to the Tramore. With 5km of golden sands and beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean, it's a beach lover's paradise. The main beach, aptly named Tramore Beach, offers a fantastic spot for sunbathing, picnicking, and enjoying a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters. It's perfect for families and water sports enthusiasts alike, with excellent facilities for swimming, surfing, kayaking, and kiteboarding.
