The house is on the edge of a small country village called Slieverue or Slaigh Rua in Irish which translates to Red Hill or Mountain. Though in the countryside the house is close to the city. Waterford is best known for its famous Crystal, the now closed factory is just a 15 minute drive from the house, the visitor Centre is still there and is open 7 days for most of the year, five days during the 3 winter months.
